The Bible is the Word of God… right? Or maybe some of it is just the opinion of those who wrote it? For that matter, maybe all of it is just made up. Does anyone know for sure? But more importantly, how can YOU be sure about anything in the Bible? For centuries people have argued that the Bible is full of errors, that it has been intentionally corrupted, that it is not historical, or that it is mainly based on myths from other cultures. Others have argued that it is racist and/or sexist and so it cannot be trusted.
Perhaps you’ve struggled with some of these ideas yourself and, if so, you’re not alone. Or maybe you’ve always just assumed that it’s all 100% accurate. In either case you have the same dilemma: how do you really know if you should trust the Bible or not?
Our “Trinity Wednesdays in Lent” series for 2017 is called “Why Should I Trust the Bible?” and in it we will investigate many of the accusations and concerns that people have leveled at the Bible for almost its entire existence. Please join us on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM, from March 8th through April 5th for this engaging study – it’s guaranteed to change how you look at the Bible!
Portions of our study will be based on the new book, "Why Should I Trust the Bible?" by A. Trevor Sutton. If you would like to have a copy of this book for yourself you may sign up on the events board in the church lobby or purchase one directly (paper or electronic version) from Concordia Publishing House or Amazon.
As always, our Wednesday evening experience will begin and end with music by Joshua Zilberman (our new Director of Music & Worship). And of course you're all invited to join us beforehand for DINNER at 5:45 PM. Just register for each meal at the link below so that we know how many people to expect. Also, we will have FREE CHILD CARE available during our study time this year for children ages 2 through 10 (just preregister so your child is guaranteed a spot).
Our Trinity Wednesdays in Lent are always a special time for us to grow in our relationship with God and each other. We look forward to seeing you there!
